Meet Miss Molly
I grew up in a small farm town in Idaho, in a home filled with music. My mom is a piano teacher, and I have been her student for most of my life. She pulled me onto the bench young, added me to her student list, and the rest is history. Growing up I watched her pour love and patience into every student who came through our door. Under her guidance I started taking my own students in high school, and the more I taught the more I loved it. You could say I took up the family business! Over 10 years later and I have never looked back.
I started playing violin when I was 8 and spent over 15 years in study, with 10 of those in private classical training. I have performed in orchestras and symphonies, played professional gigs at weddings and galas, and served as a performing missionary for my church in Nauvoo, Illinois, where I sang, danced, and fiddled my way through one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. I have always loved being part of my community through music, whether that was showing up for a local event, playing at church, or just playing music at home for the joy of it. My favorite things to play on the violin are bluegrass and gypsy jazz, and I can't resist a good Lindsey Stirling piece. On piano I gravitate toward contemporary style and all things Christmas.
I have always loved teaching from home. The warm, personal environment it creates makes it my favorite place to teach. After years of teaching at music studios while life kept me moving, my husband and I are finally settled here in Sandy and I have a dedicated studio space of my own. I am so excited to join this community, connect with families in the area, and share the joy of music with every student who walks through my door!
When I am not teaching or playing you will probably find me baking fun desserts, cooking, decorating, and doing crafts, and I can never pass up a good thrift store. My favorite activity though? Going to the movies! Butter popcorn, Mr. Pibb, and sour candy. Always.
Lessons
Private weekly piano lessons for students ages 4 and up. Lessons are built around the Faber & Faber curriculum, a popular and trusted method book series that teaches technique, note reading, and rhythm in a fun and structured way. As students grow, additional sheet music and song books are brought in so they get to learn music they actually love. Students start playing real songs right away. $200/month for weekly 30-minute sessions. 1-hour lessons available upon request.
Private weekly violin lessons for students ages 4 and up. Lessons begin with building a strong foundation in posture and bowing technique, then move into music theory, note reading, and the accompanying fingerings on the violin. From there students jump into playing songs using Suzuki books as the core lesson material. While the approach is rooted in classical technique, lessons branch out into additional styles like country fiddle, bluegrass, and Celtic as students grow, making for a well rounded and exciting musical experience. $200/month for weekly 30-minute sessions. 1-hour lessons available upon request.
For new violin students the free meet and greet is highly recommended before enrolling. Violin sizing, bow selection, and accessories like rosin and shoulder rest are all discussed so students are completely set up and ready to go on day one.
Not sure where to start? Come meet Miss Molly! The meet and greet is completely free with no commitment required. You will have time to ask questions, see the studio, and your child will get a sample lesson so Miss Molly can get to know them and assess where to begin. Afterward you will receive personalized book recommendations so everything is ready to go for your child's first paid lesson.

Students perform in formal recitals throughout the year — a wonderful opportunity to celebrate progress and share music with friends and family in a structured setting. Beyond recitals, students also take part in planned community performances, which might look like visiting a local assisted living home to brighten someone's day and share their music with others!
-
Group lessons are hosted throughout the year where students practice performing for each other, learn recital etiquette, and participate in fun group music activities! Students get to know their fellow musicians and learn alongside peers who understand exactly what they are going through. Building that sense of community early on is something I truly feel makes all the difference.

Meet and greets are completely free and a wonderful way for families to come see the studio, ask questions, and let their student try a short sample lesson before committing to anything. For violin students especially, the meet and greet is a great opportunity to discuss instrument sizing, accessories, and purchase guidance so everything is ready to go for the first paid lesson. Book yours today and come say hello!
